Last weekend while camping in my van I was quickly reminded that summer has arrived. Here in the Midwest, the heat has arrived. It was almost 90F degrees in my van at 10PM, and 85F at 11PM. It was a long, hot, and mostly miserable night.
Sometimes the heavens align and a company named Ogery (Outdoor Energy) reached out and asked if I wanted to review their F11 Camping Fan. I happily accepted their offer and have enjoyed running the fan though its paces over the past few days.
Hidden in the base of the fan is one of its coolest (no pun intended) features: a built-in 20,000mAh rechargeable battery. The battery works just like the other USB power banks I own. On the back are two USB ports; a USB-C that’s both in (for charging) and out (for charging other devices), and a traditional USB-A port that’s out only. The battery accepts 20A fast charging and can completely recharge in four hours, which is pretty good for a battery this size. It also supports pass-through charging which means you can run the fan while it’s charging.
Right up front I want to say my favorite thing about the Ogery F11 fan is the front panel. I have a lot of devices that I only use occasionally and when I pull one out I have to relearn how to use them. The F11’s front panel has four buttons and a knob and everything is plainly labeled. Each of the fan’s options has four levels which are also displayed on the front in small blue LEDs. Thankfully, one of the four buttons is “night mode” which turns off all the lights — helpful while sleeping.

Along with the night-mode button, there are also buttons to control the built-in LED lights, to control oscillation, and set a turn-off timer. Again, everything has four levels. The lights have off, low, medium, and high settings. The fan can oscillate in 30, 60, 90, and 120 degree increments. The turn off timer can be set for 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. The fan’s knob turns to set the power at 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. Again, each options level is clearly displayed on the front panel with blue LEDs. The current charge level of the battery is also displayed using LED lights indicating a battery life of 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25%. No lights means it’s time to charge the battery.
The F11 has a few handy built-in features. There’s a carrying handle built into the top of the fan, and a rotating hook that flips up out of the bottom so that the fan can be hung upside-down in tents or vehicles. I hung mine from a magnetic hook attached to the roof of my van with no problem. The fan also comes with a remote which is nice while laying in bed. There’s a built-in holder for the remote on the rear of the fan. The remote can do everything that’s located on the front panel, and vice-versa.
Logically, all of the fan’s settings affect how long it’ll run off a single charge. The website states that when only using the LED lights on low, the device can run for about six days. It also states that the fan will run for about 60 hours on the lowest (25%) settings and 11-12 hours on the highest setting. There are so many possible combinations of options and levels that it would be impossible to calculate them all, so you’ll just have to experiment. I’ve gone to sleep with the fan on high and oscillation turned on and it lasted all night, which is my biggest requirement. Keep in mind that with pass-through charging you can still use the fan while it’s charging.
MSRP for the Ogery F11 is $79.99, but nobody has ever paid that much. Ogery has a 25% discount on their website making it $59.99, and Amazon has it for $49. Additionally, Ogery sent me 10% off discount codes which I’ll share below. I just checked Amazon and a 20,000mAh power bank with 20A fast charging sells for around $30 alone, so for about $20 more you are getting the fan and all its options. When you look at it that way, I think it’s a great bargain.
There’s a pretty good chance you’ll be seeing more of this fan in future Big Rob’s Van videos. I’ve already carved out a spot to store it in the van and it’ll be getting a lot of use in these upcoming summer months.
