I don’t change backpacks lightly. I’ve had my current backpack for 15 years. Once I get a backpack and get comfortable with where all the pockets are and where everything goes I’ll keep it until the threads fall out.
A couple of weeks ago Tolaccea sent me their R10 rolltop backpack to try out and after using it for a week, and I only admit this sheepishly… I switched to it. I am now using it full time.

Tolaccea’s R10 rolltop backpack, even without the rolltop feature (which I’ll get to shortly), has a ton of storage. The outermost pocket is waterproof, a great place for earbuds and electronics that you need quick access to. Behind that is a larger area with two pockets, and hined that is an even larger area that goes all the way to the top of the backpack. Behind THAT is a padded area for laptops that is quite roomy. I was able to put two laptops and a tablet in that single area with no problem.

It’s a bit difficult to show with one hand so I unrolled the top and hung it on my tripod, which isn’t the best way to show this feature but it’ll have to do. The top of the back unrolls and expands the backpack’s capacity from 32L all the way up to 40L. Just when you thought this bag was full you can keep unrolling it and shoving more clothes and electronics in. The storage capacity of this thing is unreal.

Attacked to the top with paracord is a quick attachment that secures the top.

I sling my backpacks a lot lower than many people (I just find it more comfortable that way) but the straps (which include reflective stripes) can be adjusted easily. There are handles on the back and side for carrying or securing the bad, and the usual side pockets for water bottles or other essentials. Whether you’re a hiker, camper, or just a gear head like myself, this backpack is a great solution. I’m not kidding when I say I’ve switched over to using it daily.
