Reviewing Bodega Cooler 26QT/25L | BRV

A few weeks ago Bodega sent me a cooler to review and I’d been struggling to figure out a way to use it. The original 12v refrigerator I purchased for my van was a large 50L model, and for the past few months I’ve been using a 45L model I was sent to test. The cooler I received from Bodega is a 25L model which is great for a day or weekend trip, but too small for me to use in the van full time.

The video I made is a bit goofy. This cooler claims to hold 25L and I came up with the idea of testing that by pouring 25L of soda into the cooler. It actually held 26L, which is pretty impressive. I doubt most people will use the cooler in this fashion, but I hope people think the video is funny and that it still contains enough information about the product to let people know if it’s right for them or not.

This 26QT/25L Bodega Cooler is approximately 24″ wide, 13″ deep, and 16″ tall. The temperature can be adjusted from 68F all the way down to -4F. It comes with both 12v and 110v adapters, which means you can use it both on and off the grid. Of all the refrigerators I’ve tested, the controls on this one are probably the simplest; there’s an on/off button and an up/down temperature arrows. This may be the quietest cooler I’ve tested to date and I had to check multiple times to make sure it was turned on. It has a reversable lid, but not many other features. Being a smaller-sized cooler, there’s no Bluetooth app, no molded cup holders on the lid, there’s no drain, and no side handles for strapping it down (the handles are molded in).

At just over 22lbs, the Bodega Cooler is way more porable than my other refrigerators. If I were going to a cookout or a picnic, I would not hesitate to throw this in the car. After unboxing, I was ablet to get the cooler cold within 15 minutes and below freezing in about 30. You could literally throw this in your car, plug it into your 12v adapter and start it cooling, stop and buy some drinks, and have them cold by the time you arrive at your destination. We occasionally have backyard gatherings and are always running to 7-Eleven to get bags of ice to throw into an ice chest to hold drinks for guests. In the future, I think I’ll just plug this thing in and fill it with bottles of water and soda.

One thing I neglected to mention in my video is that the Bodega Cooler comes with a five-year warranty on the compressor and one year for parts. Another cooler I recently reviewed had a three-year warranty which I though was good, and it is. Five-years is better.

There’s enough space in this thing to hold several days of food if you know how to pack. It’ll also hold about 30 cans of soda if you leave the soda in the cans, or a whopping 26L of soda if you decide to pour it in. 🙂
